Ending Fractured Axel

Thu May 01, 2025 10:44 am

Hi everyone.
I've just paid the 6-monthly invoice for FA hosting until November and I think it's time to call it a day. Our daily visits and posts are largely negligible these days and there are better ways to talk about these things than forums.

To that end, I will be cancelling my DD to pay clook for hosting and the site will go offline on 31 October 2025.

I will preserve backups of the database at that time, although I'm not sure if anyone will be able to do anything with them even if anyone wanted to. For privacy's sake I will delete all DMs before I take the backup. If you have any DMs you want to keep forever (or any other content here) then you have 6 months to work out how you want to save it.

Thanks for visiting FA and all your contributions to these forums, your patronage at the shop and donations to keep us running over the years. Hopefully I'll see some of you on a field sometime.

Cheers, Andy

The end of an era, but totally understandable. Thanks for giving us this platform for some time, it has been a great source of information and inspiration.
In the bag(s): R-sky, Benson, Prism, Revolution, Quadrifoil and a few more...

Very sad to see this happen, but totally understand why.

I haven't flown much over the last three or so years and now have a health issue which is getting in the way of flying, but still look in here most days in case someone has posted.

A big thank you to Andy and Craig for everything they have done for the UK trick kiting community. I may never have been the best trick kiter out there, but I've very much enjoyed the learning process and the advice and guidance here has been no small part of it.

Thanks for all the fish, guys! :)

Obviously a shame, and very sad, had some great times, met many of the members at random fields around the country (and sold a few kites too) :D

Thank you to all the members, it was fun while it lasted =D>

Thanks for all you've done for the kiting community Andy. Sad that it has to end. I still fly occasionally so might see one of you on a field/beach sometime.

I'm certainly going to roam around and see what I want to preserve for myself.

Sad news.  More and more of the early web is disappearing these days, but time marches on.
Sincere thanks to Andy and Craig.  I've only been flying since about 2011, but couldn't have made it this far without this forum and others like it.
