Is there a shower block at Treago farm?

Yep, but since Treago is my only ever adult camping experience I've no idea how it compares to other sites.

Highfield Lodge is on the main lane from the East into Crantock. To get to the beach on foot you would walk along W.Pentire road as far as the road from Traego then down across the field to the beach . It's about 400m longer walk than from Traego. By car, it's a bit nearer to get to the beach car park than it is from Traego.

Yep, but there is also a stile here:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie= ... 09162&z=17
which gives you a slightly shorter route across the field.

Warning - the way down the dunes is long and steep!! Don't carry too much stuff or you will regret it on the return journey :P

Will be there from Friday afternoon, until Monday morning. Hoping to then get at least a visit to the Cornish Cyder Farm before the trip home 8)

Ohhh, can't believe it... Work want me to go on a 'team building weekend away', in Lyon that weekend!! I had already booked my B&B in Crantock as well. Bummer.

So, if anyone still needs a B&B, I had booked a double room for 3 nights (Friday-Sunday), it's on West Pentire Road (near the field shown on google maps link in my previous post), send me a PM in the next couple of days. At least then when I cancel, the B&B might give me my deposit back if there is someone else wanting to take the room, if only for 1-2 nights. I think it was about £67 a night.

Was so looking forward to Cornwall again :-( Maybe next year...

For those staying at Treago who wish to avoid trudging over the full height and width of the dunes, I can suggest the route shown on this map:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?ie=UTF ... 19162&z=16

When reaching the dunes, instead of progressing straight on, turn left and follow the Coastal Path a few yards to the corner where turn right and go down the relatively steep but short dune path to the beach. Easier going down than up :) .

Good fun going down hill, but not recommended for the climb back up to the camp site.

If you are a NT member there is NT car park close to the river, with a much easier dune to overcome. Not ecologically sound, but at my age........ :)

Yes, exactly as 'jaydub' says, quite a walk back uphill.

There is always space to park a few cars at the roadside near the turn-off to Treago and a bit fiurther down towards the campsite at the points I've added to the map. The local surfers use these spaces throughout the year without any apparent problems.

as they said - quite steep down the caravan site and across the fields to the cafe - there is also a short but steep flight of steps from the cafe to the national trust car park.

Did you book a caravan near the bottom of the park (i.e. the westernmost end) or the top?
