Last years event was well attended as previously and we were blessed with good weather again. I'm starting this thread to test interest for a repeat get-together later this year and if so try to firm up on a date.

This is what I currently see in the calenders with respect to kite festival dates:

May
2 & 3 Weymouth, East Yorkshire (Driffield) and Layer Marney Tower (Colchester)
8 & 9 Swindon
15 & 16 Rougham

June
4, 5 & 6 Exmouth
5 & 6 Basingstoke
12 & 13 Wirral, Teston Bridge (Maidstone) and Blackheath
19 & 20 Southampton
26 & 27 Barmouth

As I see it the following dates are either clear or the festivals on those dates less likely to attract FA people:

21, 22 & 23 May
28, 29 & 30 May ( but Bank Holiday Weekend)
25, 26 & 27 June

Let's see if we can agree a date soon so those interested can put marks in the diary.

Not a hope of me making the May dates because of work commitments and kids' GCSEs & A-levels.

Might just be able to get a pass out for the June dates though .

Treago Farm is close and I am pretty sure is the main campsite that people use for the Crantock trip.

It seems like there is enough agreement now to fix the dates as 25, 26 and 27 June.

These dates are really about as late as we should go anyway as the beach gets rather too busy after that for safe flying.

Here is the tide information:

Tide times and heights:
High Tides:
Fri., 25th June: 04:02 (6.1m) 16:24 (6.3m)
Sat. 26th June: 04.48 (6.2m) 17.07 (6.4m)
Sun. 27th June: 05:28 (6.2m) 17:45 (6.5m)

Tide times and heights:
Low Tides:
Fri., 25th June: 10:26 (1.3m) 22.48 (1.2m)
Sat. 26th June: 11.07 (1.2m) 22.30 (1.1m)
Sun. 27th June: 11.45 (1.1m)

With those high tide levels there will just about be enough exposed beach to fly at high tide.
