Portsmouth TP Workshop

Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:31 pm

11.00 AM Mon 31st August.

We've been asked to hold some sort of coaching sessions along the lines of the IQuad clinic last year on the Monday of the Portsmouth festival, my understanding is that they will be leaving the 3rd arena in place for the purpose.

KG has the straight liney stuff and general flying in hand, but I thought this might be a good opportunity for a workshop. It'll take an hour or two depending on numbers during which time you'll learn how to...

Prepare for...
Take part in...
Field direct...
Judge...
and best arena practice for Tricks Party competitions.

This is full TP preparation, not the UK variant we're flying just now, and we'll have a run through as we go along, (Scores won't count for anything, just for learning purposes) albeit without PA and music.

This session isn't 'BFD' stuff, we won't teach you how to Axel, there's other sessions for that, though I'm sure hanging around, bimbling and talking to folk round and about on the day / weekend will help with that sort of stuff if you want it.

There's a bit of prep work to do (printing and such) ahead of time, so confirmation of numbers will be needed a week in advance, so if you'd like to come along and take part, please PM, Email or Post here and just shout out with any questions.

Wish I could get to this, but good will is running out at home due to large amount of local kiting commitments over the summer and I have pushed my luck as far as it will go.
Any chance of a repeat run some time later this year?

The rules on here are close as makes no odds.

(nobody has actually written up a set of rules for UK yet, and I've lost the US ones)

Google does a great job, don't know what a "torture" is but it doesn't sound like any trick I know

If you use the webarchive you still can find the documents of tpusa
http://web.archive.org/web/200712191614 ... rtyusa.com

I have uploaded the most important files on the tricksparty.nl server.
www.tricksparty.nl/oldusafiles/TPGuidelines.pdf
www.tricksparty.nl/oldusafiles/TPTrickDefinitions.pdf

Beware that the USA used 12 tricks for ballet, in europa we do 9 max.

If you need some more info or help let me now.
I'll be gone for the weekend, www.tricksparty.nl/lommel/lommel_en.html

Thanks for that guys.
Question regarding imposed tricks:

“On the day of competition, the judges will choose 4 of the 8 selected tricks on the basis of the wind conditions.”

Who selects the tricks? I can’t seem to find details did I miss something?

OK, at this point there's 1 confirmed attendee. 's a none starter then...

Any more for any more? - Poll added (once I've sussed how to do it).

There have been requests for coaching though, so we'll try and sort a timetable to accomodate.
