Crantock 2009

Thu Dec 18, 2008 7:47 pm

Are there any plans for this in 2009. Previous years have been in June and looking at KiteCalender it looks busy already (Wirral/Beacon 06 - 07 June...... Blackheath 13 - 14 June)

Wanna' get the hols booked in work nice and early.

Yeah it's a good time to get this nailed, we lost the London guys last year because of a clash with the new Blackheath.

A decision early on is good for bookings of all kind.

My preference is - I don't care as long as the local guys (Tim & Bill) say it's not a busy period. Kites and 100's of Joe Public aren't a comfortable mix.

I was only thinking earlier this week that it's about time we should home in on a date if there is enough interest of course.

Spring half-term holidays in the UK are Mon 25 May 2009 to Fri 29 May 2009. So the weekend 22/23/24 May should be avoided as is will be expensive accommodation and busy. I would think most of the half-term tourists will be returning home Saturday 30 May, so the weekend 29/30/31 might be possible. I note there are clashes with Wirral and Blackheath on the 'prime' dates. We could go for one week later (19/20/21 June), but really any later will start to get rather busy on the beach as it is the time that families with pre-school kiddies come.

Perhaps I should start a 'Poll Thread' with several dates just to test the interest.

Bill.
