See you there come wind or calm......

Either wind or calm would be good. However, historically the Basingstoke festival has been a wet one. To the point that the "Loddon Vally Kite Flyers" are often refered to as the "Sodden Valley Piss Heads".

The weather has been changeable the last few weeks but there a decent wind tonight, shame I got stuck on the PC and couldn't get out and practice making a crap attempt at tricks, LOL.

Fingers crossed for the weather, hope its nice at the w/e.

Unfortunately not, I live on the other side of the bushes to where the festival is at Down grange so never travel and only have to walk across the path.

Hi What Me?

How long you been flying? Surprised I've not bumped into you at Down Grange before, I get up there now and again, I only live up the road from you, other end of Western Way. I prefer Down Grange to the crabtree plantation, it's a bit less of a dog toilet, but normally I make the trip to Henwick as it's more open and no dogs allowed.

How far is it from the train station to the park? Walkable?

Sounds good, where is Henwick ?

Down grange has had its fair share of irresponsible dog owners (sadly) and one attacked a kite in the arena last year at the festival! :(

Fingers crossed for no repeats on that front this year.

The arrow points to the middle of the field. Great place to fly - no dogs allowed, grass always nicely mown, plenty of car parking, and courtesy of a local resident it's own weather station and webcam too:

Just remember not to walk across the cricket square.....

Great weekend, beautiful weather, and even managed to "Rickroll" the Basingstoke Kite Festival (on Saturday, twice!)
