How did you get on on Saturday?

My partner and I visited with dual liners on Sunday afternoon, and were surprised to see the whole area covered with a thickish layer of snow. (Near Gatwick, snow is but a memory).

There was a man with a snow board and large rasta Flexifoil, who eventually left by flying his kite and board off into the distance. Impressive exit. The wind was at his back all the way to the car park.

there was a boarder there o.O i didnt think they were allowed.... are you sure it was the wind at his back or the wardens?

unless the rules have changed i didint think you were allowed any powered movment (buggy/board) up there :S

i think im going to have to check sometime soon

You are right about kite buggies and kite boards. But I don't recall an explicit prohibition on snow boards. I guess the custodians of the Downs either didn't think of that, or accepted that thick snow would be a very rare event, and perhaps decided not to legislate for every conceivable possibility.

There was another snow boarder there without a kite.

well... sunday was ok... there were a few small single liners up...
and a dual liner that i first though was being flown by a pro... after a few seconds i realised it was not as it came thundering into the ground and im fairly sure somthing broke...

but me and a mate had my kites up :D ... untill it decided to get wet....

wind was ok... nothing too fun but got a tiny bit of air so it was worth it :)

Peace out :)
