I can be found occasionally flying at Warwick Racecourse (I live about 3 miles away from Warwick).
Burton Dassett is a bit of a drive away for me.
There have been a few local meetups on a playing field in Kenilworth (Castle Farm playing fields) - watch out for updates to the 'Midlands' thread here, or even update it yourself with a suggestion / invitation.
If you find other other suitable flying sites in the vicinity - let us all know so we can go try them out :-)

I'm in Stratford upon Avon and fly in a field just behind the High school which unfortunately has poor wind. (surrounded on all sides).
Never flown in Burton Dassett.

West of Warwick...

Hi,

I try to get out on the Rec. ground here occasionally to practice my rubbish axels and beat up the ground with my Gem:

I think it's about 1/2 hour west of you.

Cheers .. Mark

Your Multimap URL is a bit longer than necessary. If you look below the map on the Multimap page you will see a "Web Address" that you can quote to get the same location again. The "Web Address" on the page that your long URL points to (which actually seems to give a bigger map) is http://uk2.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... 000&icon=x

Oh, and although I did attend a Kenilworth meet once, I live in Manchester, so it is hardly local. I keep an eye on the Midlands discussions when I am likely to be passing through on my way down south.

hello john, keith, bryan, ian and other midlanders I'm still here, ''busy doing nothing working the whole day through, trying to find lots of things not to do''(snow white and the seven dwarves song), its surprising how busy being unemployed can be, no routine and just filling in forms and waiting for interview offers.Oh and refurbishing the house, correction watching workmen working, making tea and cleaning up. :(
Ian, I haven't been up Bertie for ages, I used to spend whole days there, a great place to chill out but not big enough or flat enough for a serious meet. :)

I will ensure I take sensible precautions in future 8-[

I was going to ask how soggy the meadow is at present but I 'spose the ground was frozen yesterday?

Mark.

I was going to go out for a fly yesterday, but I reckon I wouldn't have been able to see my kite at the end of the lines :-(

LESS FOG PLEASE! (and some wind would be nice too)

i agree that the fog situation is getting beyond a joke!! :)

looks like the wind should pick up towards the end of the week and drop down to a nice 10mph for the weekend. i've got no plans as such, but if anyone is flying somewhere near by it would be nice to meet some local kiters.

cheers, jamie.

Mark asked
how soggy the meadow is

considering that its known as a meadow and is next to a river the land seems to drain well, saturday it was wet rather than soggy and not frozen.and the only precautions needed are waterproof's :?
jamie
be patient the wind is on way, but its described as polar ie from north so very cold, still can't have it both ways. :-(
