Anyone fly in the Worcester / Alcester / Stratford area?

Tue Sep 20, 2005 9:12 pm

Trying to get to grips with a Gemini, having great fun but no doubt will learn faster flying with folk who know what they are doing :?

Cheers . . Mark

I'm in that general area (a little bit further east between Stratford and Warwick), but the bit about knowing what I'm doing could be a problem...

Hi Mark,
I've just moved to Stratford and fly at Shottery Fields. Unfortunately the wind can be a bit lumpy but there's no where else in Stratford. If you ever wnat to meet up pm me.

Where do you fly normally Mark?

Is it a good site (clean winds, free parking etc.)?

I normally fly at Warwick Racecourse - quite open, but also a favourite dog-walking area for the locals.

Hi,

I favour Bidford Rec ground.

http://uk2.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?c ... timap.y=84

I has some trees as per attached pic but a reasonable ammount of room and you can park on it so access is good (they charge for parking in the summer but not at this time of year).

I live in Inkberrow, but work in Leamington so travel through Stratford daily.

Havent tried the Race course although I know some power kite guys use it.

Where is Shotteryfields?

At weekends, might have a chance to get out this Sunday 2.30 ish.

WINDGURU is showing 6/7 mph SE at present howewver it may well be different by Sunday. ( strangely BBC shows 7mph NW?)

I don't think I'll be able to make it - I'll still be wallpapering the dining room tomorrow I fear :-(

Hope you have good wind and weather!

I'm going to try to make it (weather permitting) - it just depends on how quickly I can hang the rest of the wallpaper

As you get into the centre of Bidford from the east you come to a roundabout. Turn left thro some trafic lights and over the bridge and the rec ground is on your right next to the river.

Hope to see you there. I'll be flinging my purple ('grape') Gem ;-)

Cheers .. Mark
