The concerns about London-based fliers are echoed here.

I'll try to file the info about Purley Way somewhere accessible in my memory as I visit my parents in West Wickham from time to time and it would be easily accessible from there (possibly more so than Blackheath, which is where I have gone for my kite fix in the past).

Sorry guys, but I will not be able to make it this week. I have to go to the office tomorrow and I cannot carry my kite stuff with me. And I am away for the following two Thursdays. Can we try again in August?

Thursday 4th August is a possibility, though by no means a certainty, for me.

Thanks to Pete and the boys for making me welcome this evening, nice to meet a few new faces, I shall try to come more often. I must say it's a great flying site, the cleanest wind I've flown in for ages

Still in Manchester this week but I'll be in South London next week, desperately looking for an excuse to fly - Thursday 4th August?

P.S. Whereabouts on Purley Way?

Weather permitting I'll defiantly be up there this Thursday and most probably next week as well, but I know a one or two are on holiday this week.

We normally fly at the Purley end opposite the old Ford factory.

I can see from the (Multi)map that the Purley Way Playing Fields are on the East side of Purley Way, opposite the old airport, and Roundshaw Open Space is over the road on the West side, just south of the airport. Is it one of these?

Thinking of coming this eve if the weather's OK. What time(-ish)?

Any car-parking within reasonable walking distance?

Stuart
Looks like you found us on the map, we use Purley Way Playing Fields on the east side.

Stephen
I normally get there around 4 o'clock, but I'm usually the last to arrive.
There are three car parks just opposite to where we fly 8-) ( I don't like walking)

Weather looks promising at the moment starting to brighten up and not rained yet but not much wind. I'll be there if it stays the same.

I think a good day was had by all despite very bumpy wind.

Thanks to Rob (Fiction) and Stephen (sftonkin) for making the trip down, a long one in Stephens case, it is nice to meet some new fliers and put some faces to the names.
