I would normally know Ian but the Lancaster had my full attention throughout and by the time I gave any attention to the escort fighters they had peeled off. However I have just checked the BBMF display information and it shows the third plane was in fact a Hurricane .

Hope you manage to get that trick out vid sorted before Jude does you know what. The suspense of waiting for both is more than mortal man can take :D

The BBMF is based just down the road from me so I get to see them on a regular basis, even then everything stops when the 'Lanc' comes over ( we also have the Red Arrows up the road at Scampton so get really spoilt!).

For those with an interest in such things the Worlds only other flying Lanc is either coming or currently in the country from Canada - I'd love to see the pair displaying together but nearly all the events are on the South coast! :-(

Oh also a nearly flying Lanc - Just Jane - at East Kirkby near Skegness.

Looks like you guys had a great weekend, sorry I missed it.

Make the most of the Vulcan, it will lose it's airworthyness certificate at the end of next year and will never fly again :-(

Yet the Americans are allowing the B52s to fly for another few decades

Thanks for posting those Ian. Well done to everyone who had a go. Its not easy flying against the clock and against another person. The pressure is quite intense even in these friendly comps. =D> =D> =D>

FILEY FLY MEET 2

Just a quick reminder about the 2nd NMKG meeting for Filey this year. It will take place from Friday 12th September through to Sunday 14th September at the Filey Brigg campsite. This weekend is a busy one for the campsite so if your coming please don't leave it to the last minute to book. Last year one of the crew had to camp at another site because this one was full up. Tents are usually not a problem but caravans and campers will struggle to get on if you leave it. In a few weeks we will be asking for numbers attending so if you haven't already done so please give it some thought and join us. :D

Spent 90 minutes last night watching the Lancasters practising formation flying over RAF Coningsby along with a Spitfire and a Hurricane. The sound of 10 Merlin engines overhead was amazing! Sorry for the poor quality, I only had my camcoder with me and the battery was nearly dead.
