Hinckley Meet Up - November?

We normally try and meet up in November.

Just wondering how much appetite there is for trying to do something this year.

The weather is obviously a significant issue and I'm not aware that there is any imminent change to the weather pattern due in the next few weeks.

I've alo no idea whether Wikin Park looks like a flying field or a swamp at the moment.

So really just trying to gauge level of interest in trying to do something late November or possibly very early December or whether we wait until February / March time.

Your thoughts?

My weekends are pretty much sewn up through till mid december - most of them involve the consumption of vast amounts of alchohol - so a sunday out in the fresh air might be just what's needed ?? Haven't been down to Wykin since the last time we played (haven't flown a kite either come to think of it). I'll pop down over the next couple of days & see what condition it's in. Sit Rep within 48hrs - Stand By.

Hmmm... It's not looking good - very wet. Standing water in places. Slippy, Soggy & Muddy underfoot & it's not really had much rain on it this year - prob best to wait until the spring.

If you're desperate to travel this way there is an alternative site that's just a few miles down the road - Market Bosworth Park... Nice open grass area - does have trees around, but less dogs. Toilets too for those with weak bladders. Until recent years the MKF used to have an arena within the field for the Bosworth Lark in The Park summer event. It's a nice place to be.

If I can work out how to post a google map thingy up on here I'll do it later. Link to other google thingy below.

Hmmm. In view of the very dynamic weather systems and the corresponding uncertainty that if we pick a date that it's going to be remotely flyable, I'm tempted to say let's wait until the new year (when it will probably be snowing ;)).

Or do you guys want to try Market Bosworth on a date in early December (1st or 8th) and we can make a last minute decision about whether it's on or not?

Would welcome your views.

FWIW, I have close to no chance at all to get up there this side of Christmas. That said, I really wouldn't mind a trip up to Bosworth - so if you do give it the go-ahead between y'all, I'll make every effort to take a day out (No promises mind!).

I'm happy to go Bosworth if any others are. Might even try and stick with dual rather than quad lines... bug no promises

We'll be in the Midlands on the 15th, and I'll go fly at Bosworth for a few hours round about the middle of the day.
