Interesting one this.

Whilst I'm not aware there is any reason why Library kites can't be shipped out of the UK, I'm not sure that it is fair on the previous keeper to have to pay world wide shipping costs.

Just my (hopefully not too interfering) thoughts. :?

Yeah this is what I have asked, I've got the kite at the mo, but I'm not sure on the rules around sending it abroad, and if it is allowed then I'm a bit worried about how much postage is going to cost me, we shall see

I'm sure I saw a question about sending them abroad, but I can't see where I saw it, and I can't find it now, and I didn't reply at the time, sorry.

What do you guys think? Obviously we have seen demo kites that are routinely sent around the world. Maybe the recipient would want to agree to bearing some of the cost? It's quite likely they will have to send it back to the UK at some point.

Also, any particular donator of the kite might want to pipe up and say they don't want it sent away.

As the donor of this kite, here's my £0.02:

* No objection to it going abroad.
* I am of the opinion that the overseas borrower should pay full return postage plus the "extra" over UK postage that the outward postage costs.

I've no problem sending it, but I'm unsure as to how much sending it that far will cost, if i get the postage worked out then I can let the receiver know and I'm sure something can be arranged, after all I've had it a while and so paying a little to send it on for someone elses benefit isn't a tall order, I'm sure some sort of arrangement can be found

Is the Gemini still in the UK? I've been eyeing up benson kites for a while now, but would like to have a go on one before parting with any cash.

Thnx.

Is the kite still around? Or has it been lost?
