Are these currently in the rule book?
(mind you I wouldn't know what to do with the extra two lines anyway!)

I certainly intend to get out flying tomorrow if I can and weather permitting (currently experiencing a hail storm and strong winds in Cowbridge). Might not get there until later in the afternoon though, so if you are still there will see you.

I hope the weather is OK for all who attend - good luck in the competitions, and I look forward to seeing the results, pictures etc. Just sorry I cannot make it myself.

Brilliant day. Pity we ran out of thermal enthusiasm to do the team and tricks ( i.e. it was cold).

Well, it's all over, it was a windy day, and was getting wet and cold
towards the end so we cut things short and didn't bother with the team
or trick competitions. Many thanks to John and Bryan for attendance,
and for showing all of us how it's done, well done guys.

Good day out and nice casual introduction into the world of competition. James and I turned up with very little clue what the figures were (piss poor planning I know). It didn't help that we had no vented kites and had already broken a deep space (lawn dart) and hellfire (imploded) in the high winds.

Thankfully we were loaned some kites for the comp so it was with great trepidation that we used the kites for the first time as I stood on the field to do some figures I've never seen before...gulp. Luckily the winter league is there to help folks like us so we were able to get through it without any major mishaps and a sense of achievement.

If you never tried competition before it might be worth your while to try a winter league event first to see if it's your cup of tea.

Anyhoo hoping to make Swindon. Might even try and practice the figure beforehand !

Winter leagues should be fun (or at least as much fun as the hail & wind & temperature permits). I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to want to go to Swindon.

If Keith & I are there, we'll lend kites to anyone who can fly (barring blood feuds etc). The more fliers the better. :-)

Dave

Practicing before hand isn't allowed in winter leagues. Wasn't that made clear?

Good to meet you both, and hope you might try and make Sutton Coldfield on 11th Feb.
