Brighton Kite Festival Trick Competition.

Mon May 22, 2006 12:33 pm

I notice in the BKF magazine that a Trick competition has been scheduled. I am not sure who they have asked to organize this - STACK? or Someone else?

I am on Holiday that Weekend. If it is being organised by someone here I hereby make the offer of helping to run this competition to the best of my radical freestyle ability.

:)

I did say that if there was no-one else around, I'd make it happen Ed, just to get some freestyling in the Arena. Assistance most gratefully accepted. ;-)

No-one from STACK central know anything? I might call the BKF and ask if they would like us to do it.

Hi guys,
The previous post on this subject is here;
http://www.fracturedaxel.co.uk/phpBB2/v ... php?t=3514

In 2006 STACK is organising the Freestyle competitions at STACK events. The competitions at other festivals (Margam, Brighton, Bristol etc etc etc) are being organised by local flyers and/or the festivals themselves.

It looks like I will be in country at this time so if I can arrange to be there (I'll be down the coast in Christchurch) then I can either help out or shoot some more video.

Mike.

I had already sent the BKF an email asking them about it. So I hope to hear back from them.

If you make it Trick Thang format, it can be included in an overall national ranking list.

That was the plan for Rougham, but flyer opinion on the day dictated otherwise. TO was great fun though.

Could Trick Thing work with Instant Scoring? With three Judges with ring folders with the numbers 1-10 or 1-20 in them? This might get some crowd appeal!

Trick Thang definitely works with instant scoring. In fact the Trick Thang at Brighton last year was run with instant scoring (judges:ABW and IMMM) and it worked really well. We already have the ring-binders etc. I just need to find out from Matt B where they went after Rougham.

The intention is to use Trick Thang scores from the summer season to produce a National ranking. The first eligible competition was the STACK UK League Cup in April. Any Trick Thangs run anywhere else in the UK (STACK or otherwise) are eligible. All the organiser has to do is make the results public.

All the flags, binders, stop watches, etc, went with the rest of the judging stuff into the back of Alec's Land Rover. I guess someone should be able to grab it at the end of Southampton and take it to Brighton.

Right. Well I am 'Officially' up for this. I cant get to Southampton due to work, but if someone can grab the gear that would be great. I am guessing Bryan is also in as an organiser. I am happy to liase with Simon. If other people are happy. I don't want to step on any toes. I wonder if Mr Wardley and even Mr Preston would be happy to judge?
