Southampton STACK Comp - July 16/17

Fri Jul 01, 2005 7:23 pm

We have worked out a draft schedule for the Southampton event on July 16/17. It is important to note that Precision and Ballet events are scheduled to run on the same day in all disciplines.

Saturday
STACK Dual Line Pair
STACK Multi Line Individual

Sunday
STACK Dual Line Team
Tricks Party Dual Line Individual
Tricks Party Dual Line Pair
Freestyle Individual (Dual and Multi = same comp)

Events *will* take place on the day that they are scheduled. There will be no option for Saturday competitions to be carried into Sunday. This is because some competitors will be attending only on the day of their planned competition.

Please keep your eyes peeled for updates and let us know if you have any queries.

Regards
STACK UK

Even if on the Saturday you have thunderstorms all day and then perfect wind on the Sunday?

This happened at Bath one year so not so far fetched as it sounds... and I couldnt attend the Sunday.

Not when we knew in advance that it could happen - a risk we took. We were the only ones not to attend the following day.

Could we rephrase it to say... "in the event of a discipline not completed on the Saturday, it will be attempted to be run after the scheduled events on the Sunday - if time permits" ? Afterall this is what we always try to do!

Now if you were to say that the arena on the Saturday will be square and on the Sunday it will be round, then that would make more sense to me for making such an announcement. Is this the reasoning?!

While I admire the intention to run to a schedule Andy, I think that it would be wise to retain the flexibility to change if conditions dictate.

I understand the viewpoint, but I find having a schedule and not running into other days more helpful. I'm not sure if I will be at this one, but if I am, it will probabaly be for one day only.

(Andrew.. If I am, I'm happy to widen my experience in field directing)

Andy, do you know if the height restricting barrier at the main gate will be removed, enabling me to bring a caravan or campervan down on the Friday night ?

Thank you Faith, we will be very grateful for your services. And there will be enough judges (min 4) so I should be able to Field Direct as well. So you can fly too... hint.. hint..

For the reasons of excitement just before the festival this year, I'd say your chances are slim. Alec Elliot is your man though...

No worries, for my sins I quite enjoy it.

Re flying, I don't think that Don't Know are in a position to play, although I will confirm with Mr Reed. He seems to be particulary busy currently, which is as with all things, both good and bad :D
