STACK UK National Championship Rounds 2 and 3

Wed Jun 14, 2017 5:40 pm

The final two rounds of the STACK UK National Championship competition will be held THIS weekend: 17th – 128th June.

These will be held at Dunstable Downs (National Trust site - Whipsnade Road, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, LU6 2GY).

We will be running two round of IRB competition, for individuals, pairs and teams in both dual line and multi-line. One round will be run each day (weather permitting).

We will also run a round of freestyle competition and a round of multi-kite ballet competition, provided there are participants.

Notes

The IRB competition will include individuals, pairs and teams in both dual line and multi-line. Obviously this is dependant on who turns up to compete in each category. The IRB competitions will be run according to the latest International Sport Kite Rule Book (Version 3).

The freestyle competition will be loosely based on the Tricks Party format.

The multi-kite competition will use the IRB ballet rules.

The competition is subject to weather and in extreme circumstances may have to be shortened or abandoned.

A few clarifications. You do need to be a STACK UK member, or a member of an equivalent non-UK organization, to compete in the IRB competitions. However you can join STACK UK on the weekend (£14 basic or £5 junior/retired, plus £5 competition fee for new competitors). The Freestyle competition and the Multi-kite competition are open to non STACK members (subject to £5 competition fee). Note that non-STACK members (including members of overseas organizations) will need to show proof of £5M public liability insurance (a condition of use of the site).

Coz Dunstable is a long way away and kiting takes a back seat to my main sporting interest, sailing, which incidentally I'm a damn site better at. ;)
