Southampton Winter League

Thu Nov 06, 2003 9:13 am

Not sure if any of you would be interested, but this Sunday (November 9th) will be the annual Southampton Winter league held at Lordshill (So'ton Festival site). It's a nice relaxed, informal event and a good place to pick up flying tips from fellow flyers.

Meet at 10:30am. Competition starts 11:30am

If you have any queries, please contact Solent Kite Flyers on 01794 322265 (Alec) or 023 8077 0788 (Michael)

Might be along for a casual meet'n'fly, but not really up to competing I don't think...

We're going to Coventry on Saturday, so we can make it for Sunday.

Martin - fancy it? Want a lift? (to Lordshill that is, not Coventry)

Sorry we missed this... I was just setting off and the rain started... thought I'd give it 30 minutes to see if it stopped, but it just carried on for the rest of the day.

Hope it wasn't too bad over your way??

I think you did well to turn back... rained on and off all day. Are you Pompey people only fair weather flyers?

If I'd had a car-full lined up I would probably have done it in the rain, but as it was it was just me (Martin is heavily occupied with decorating and Ellie's back is playing up horrendously) and the rain just put a complete downer on it.

I have flown in the rain, and didn't mind it, until the wind also picked up - cold rain at 15 mph down the back of the neck wasn't fun...

Fair-weather fliers? I wish... haven't flown for about two weeks.  In retrospect I wish I'd come over...
