The Revolution Kite Bag?

Tue Aug 03, 2010 11:03 pm

Does anyone have one?
Is it a good buy?

Just off for a casual fly last weeked and a lot of our Rev stuff was in the wrong kite / at home / back of the car/ just the wrong place.

It looks like a good way to get the elements of the kites in some sort of order.
And could stop you standing on the frame by accident.
Expensive but most thing's Rev are.
Any thoughts?

Nice timing, as I was also considering this! So, yes, would also appreciate good/bad comments about this bag. Does anyone know what length it is? Can't seem to find that bit of info anywhere, and it's also not given on the rev web-site.

I've got one... and have to say it's brilliant. I've got a total of 14 rev kites in it, 4 handle sets, 6 line sets, 2 ground stakes, and there's still room for a packet of baccy and a mobile phone.

Not sure on the length (it's in the boot of the car at the mo' and it's raining - so ain't going out to measure), but its just a fraction longer than a packed away rev 1.

Yes they are expensive, but in my view worth the money - will last a lifetime. Easy to carry around. Keeps everything neat and tidy and sits flat in the boot of the car (no funny angles stuff you get with the dual line bags).

Dig deep and go get one.

Cheers,
STEVE.

That sounds very positive, Steve, and especially the fact that you can store 14 kites in it plus handles, line-sets, etc, whereas 'officially' there is space for 5.

Reason I ask about length is that I'm thinking of getting one as a dedicated quad bag, and I've got quads other than Revs .... So I do want to make sure my quads will all fit in lengthwise before getting one.

So if you or someone else is in a position to measure up the bag when it stops raining ;) , that would be great!

Well thats a lot of Rev's.
Steve, do you still store them as a fully fledged Rev , or do you find they can be taken down to the component parts and stored in the bag?
Nice to know handles and lines fit as well.

Right then... rain has stopped. Bag is approx 41 inches long when folded up - so say 40 inches internal length.

All kites are stored in thier own individual rev supplied bag. I get between 2 & 3 kites in each pocket. 2 b series std in pocket 1. | b series mid vent & full vent in pocket 2. | SUL STD & VTD SLE in pocket 3. | STD SLE, REV1 SLE & REV2 in pocket 4. | 3 more revalikes in pocket 5 + 1 further super vent loose in bag. Internal pockets have 6 line sets, 2 handle sets, 3 spare frame sets. External pocket has 2 further handle sets, 2 ground stakes & a bit of extra crap.

Oh... and I've just found me brass zippo in there that I thought i'd lost on the field at Leominster the other week. Replaced it already but at least I have a spare now :-)

It really is brilliant.

Thanks for that, Steve! It does sound really good, except that for my purposes, it's definitely too short. To house my longest quad, I'd need at least a 1.5m long bag.

OK, Rev bag is out (for me), the search goes on!

Got the bag last Thursday.
It really is very good, lot's of space, and the large "cover it all " flap is a great design feature, even if some very large Rev's are put into production, they should still fit.
It looks like the bag could be extended in length by about 20% Via the flap. And still keep everthing safe.
As for capacity, well we only have three at the moment, and with original bags supplied with the kites, .. Well it feels empty.

That may be a good excuse? ;)
