It's a start.

Next,flat-packed furniture that assembles itself,

dirty laundry that finds it's way to the washing machine....then self-irons (particularly the latter)

and macro-engineered bridle lines that always lie tidily in the kitebag.

Very clever stuff. I remember a Ted Talk given by Robert Lang on how origami combined with maths was starting to be heavily looked at by NASA and other agencies in engineering remarkable structures that could be packed small and them unfold to become things such as solar arrays, solar sails etc.

I find origami fascinating.
