Well it is at least released now, albeit finishing at the entrance to Xen.

Have you played it yet ? It irritated the behind off me. Free is probably the best price they'll get for it.

Finishing at the entrance to Xen is probably the right place to stop. Xen was the turd flavoured cherry on the cake in the original.

I haven't played it, and I probably won't unless it makes an appearance on Xbox Games on Demand.

Why did it irritate you? Not quite right? Not as good as you remembered?

I really must finish HL2 Episode whatever-I-half-finished. I believe Gabe is waiting for me to do that before he releases 3.

I only played original Half Life from a bunch of my mate's saves. Dipped in, took a look around and never bothered with the full game. I did play the "expansions", Blue Shift and Opposing Force, though. I never quite got the enthusiasm for the series at that stage though.

I didn't see Jump+crouch as a higher jump, I thought it was to climb up something. I did find some of the jump puzzles a bit annoying I have to say though.

Well it's what you have to do to get to things you can't jump to normally so.... both descriptions work. Either way, clumsy as hell.

Have to agree with what Mike said.

It was quite beautiful in places and perhaps its strongest asset was the graphics and level design, but it made me rage due to 'that' jump mechanic. Too much of that and frequent crashes left me feeling that it was an underwhelming experience.

However, for a bunch of non-pro developers making 'that' game from scratch, it was quite an acheivement. It just fell short of the mark.

Don't much care for the Xen part, but when they deliver it I may play through it again, particularly if they sort the issues.
