Dont underestimate the E2. Its been overestimated enough for it to be dismissed as a joke, its not. The E2 is a good kite, especially for beginners because of its adjustability. Given the massive efect that the adjustment has on this kite, you;ll learn far more about bridle and stand off adjustment in real flying terms very quickly. When you find its sweet spot, its really very good; it will axel as easily as a gem, and it rolls up not far behind a vana. yep it maybe soggy but it will do the tricks. I got mine out last sunday in 2-3 mph winds, got pissed off with the impact UL, out came the E2 I had 45 mins of grinning.

jo - try cutting the corners off to make it smoother - use a soldering iron and a steel ruler, and just line it up with the edge of the sail (plus a little bit to make sure you don't damage the sail itself).

E2 again

Sat Aug 21, 2004 7:19 am

Well, last weekend at a local festival I was looking through the kite bag wondering what i could get rid of / swap to raise funds for my next love affair (probably 00) - when I spotted my E2, not flown it for a while, slow, bit cumbersome, bit of a begginers kite etc etc.... when it crossed my mind to try it with weights (which is something we've only just started toying with up here) before officialy beginning divorce proceedings. So I borrow a brass ferrul from my fury and slipped it on the bottom of the spine between the velcro. . . . . WOW

If you've got one, please try it (when it stops raining) - this kite takes on a whole new personality :wow:

Will it Axel nicely now, and do proper cascades and belly out and fly like a trick kite?

The E2 does fine axels, cascades better (for me) than the nirvana. It just feels limp at the end of the lines, there's no "life" to it. (In fact its the easisest kite Ive flown to get into and hold a fade)

Will bring mine to Bristol, if you want to try it, your welcome :)

ps.... does the ground drain well in that neck of the woods cos a local festival up here has been cancelled today - and web pages on 'How to build an Ark' have gained many hits
