Gem x-active bridle question

Tue Mar 16, 2004 1:07 am

I cut my lines the lengths of 125, 64, 20 & 58. The instructions state the outer leg is 52 & 62cm which equals 114. After tying mine, I have 118cm.

Do I leave the upper portion 52cm ??

A percentage increase is 54.25 upper, 63.75 lower. This would change the 26cm activator location on the upper to 27.125. This would change the inner location which would change the length of the activator to appx. 17.7cm from the original 17cm.

This is supposed to be a forgiving bridle & I may be trying to come up with something that is not necessary. But a 52cm upper & 66 cm lower seems pretty significant change on the lower measurement.

Any input greatly appreciated. Thanks, Clint

I'd fly it, and see how it goes. The larkshead that controls the length of the upper and lower legs is easy enough to change in the field. Maybe measure and mark the 54/64 positions, and the 52/66, then just see which feels better to you. I'd leave the activator as it is, it's that part of the bridle that is so forgiving, in my experience.
