In my opinion it is an outstanding idea. So simple and effective. And I had just cut holes in the LE of 5 of my kites.
I cant believe it!!!!

My personal view is that you should use both yoyo lines and yoyo stoppers.. but try it and see.

Does it effect flight in any other way?

Not that I have found if you get the position and length correct.

Lets have a practical exaple, where would you attach the line on a Gemini, and how long would the line be, we can then work out variations on other kites,

ok... will get back to you on it. Will need to put one up and take measurements to work out the best place and length.

Great Idea!

Just thought I'd share another little idea that can save you cutting your kites. oday I tested the effect of putting C clips on the Leading edge of my Dot matrix, over the Dacron. These seemed to work very nicely as yoyo stoppers, though obviously the low level of them means they probably wouldn't be much good for huge multiple yoyos.

I'd half expected them to get pulled downwards by the lines, but they held position perfectly today. Obviously this will depend on the individual kite (I imagine that tapered spars might not hold them so well, due to the smaller area of contact and variable size, but then again, you've got the little ridges that, IIRC, would be helping to stop the clips moving tailward), but for the DM, 8mm clips are just the business, so presumably 6mm clips would work on 6mm frames.

Try it for yourselves before you reach for the knife....
