Flapping flexy 6ft stacker

Mon Sep 30, 2019 7:37 pm

Does anyone here have had the following problem with flexifoil 6 ft. stacker?
When turning the cell at the outside of the corner collapses and starts flapping.
It's an oldie, but it has flown well for a long time...

Really hope for a solution.. :-(

Two things make flexifoils flappy- either too tight on the spar (move the inner grommets in slightly) or the fabric has become porous and is bleeding air (it only takes a tiny amount of bleed to ruin the inflation). No real cure for porous flappy- some people have tried spray on waterproofing but this only lasts for a very short while. When first starting up production of 6ft stackers we had a big problem with Windmaster fabric which became porous very quickly, led to a change of manufacturer (went to Carringtons for many years).

Hey Tom,
Never new that porosity was so killing. It was a homegrown one, so I guess I know what will be on my projects list.
