Tue Jun 25, 2013 12:24 am

Hello, looking to source a few materials.

The material used on the nose of most kites.
Mylar like used on atelier kites.
The shiny reflective stuff used on the kitehouse cosmic.

Thank you in advance :).

If I can add to the query - any recommended sources for 5.5 carbon these days?

Nope, I hadn't fallen off the map. Although one would be excused for thinking so...

I think I might have bought some 5.5mm rods from Kites Ireland a few years ago - might be worth an ask:

Nice one, I'll ask. I have one of two plans that I want to try a build of (most likely the orange) and need the 5.5 for the LE.

Hi there,

As for Mylar I've bought it from Bilboquet - its pretty expensive stuff but a metre should last you a long time.

As for nose material you could either go with seat belt webbing which can be got from Bilboquet again, or Highwaymen kites. The alternative is Cordura fabric which can be got from profabrics.co.uk.
