Fractured Axel

I must apologise for this thread but I got bored ! I have always wondered if it is possible to get a flexifoil stranger to fly more like a modern trick kite and to include more tricks in it's repetoire. Finally curiousity got the better of me and this was the result.

The kite is a Stranger UL so it has an icarex sail already. Mods include:-

1. New double standoffs with screw in fittings
2. New bridle arrangement
3. Weighted tail
4. Yoyo glides (a la akuji)
5. Taped nose so it wraps up better
6. Nitro Lower Spreaders
7. Standoff fittings
8. R Sky type t piece
9. Rollbars

So what's it fly like? It needs some more testing but at the moment it can do backspins, multiple lazies, yoyos, comete (just), slot machines, flic flacs. I hope to report back further soon

What a wonderfull idea!!! Are there any plans off this kite, the sail i can re-creeat, but what i am really curies about are the other messurments. Like the messurments from the bridle, the tail weight and the placement off the addintions. with regards chris

In standard form it does backspins, slot machines and flic flacs - might even do lazies without the "trick line"

I never saw anyone try a comete or yoyo on a Stranger... a bit before the time

Id like to see the bridle measurements and what did you use for rollbars?

I haven't forgotten to post the Bridle measurements. When I get a second then I will post these ! Thanks H

Hi! this looks fantastic !
I own 2 strangers, one purple and yellow Icarex and one white and blue
I cannot do many tricks with them. Just axels, flick-flacks and fades.
I wish i could do more with them.
It would be nice if you could give me your measurements.
My kites are : the 2 strangers i mentioned, a Red Tribord wing 217 and an Orange eolo Genesis.
