Another stuff, which better than mylar?

Every time I use mylar I have some problems:

The UV radiation the stitching, and straining from time to time kill this material.
After a multi yoyo, the mylar cracked near the outer standoffs. Icarex, is more flexible, usually I use together these two materials, except for a Vortex UL. I finished this kite at the end of january:

One of my friend gave me a heavier one, I think this stuff is a windsurf sail. I'll try it.

I don't like the mylar reinforcements, but I don't know any better.
Anybody have any idea, which material is better than mylar?
