NPW 5

Tue Aug 26, 2008 12:08 pm

Bought one of these on a whim, read all the write ups etc and decided to give it a go, flying it on 2 lines with the brake lines tied into the mains.
It will not fly!! With every turn the nose folds and loses all power, cant see any defects with it, is there any adjustment I can do, would it fly better on 4 lines? Are there any tricks to flying this thing?

I built a NPW a few years ago and it seems fine on 2 lines. The bridle is a nigtmare though. If one of the bridle lines is the wrong length by a cm or two then it won't fly. I suspect it may be useful to either try flying it on four lines or take it back to the shop you bought it from and ask them to refund you.

This site could be worth a look for a remedy / bridle dimensions etc ... http://members.cox.net/npwbill/NPWBill.htm

Not enough brake I think, built a couple of these but never tried flying them on two lines. Add an extender to the main lines to get the effect of shortening the brake lines.

Cheers Keith, will try that or I can just move the brake lines up a knot or 2

get it on four lines...

but a npw is power without any real fun...

it flies and pulls a lot but it has a supersmal window and no real powercontrol.

I used them to let people try powerkites without having to give up my good wings to beginners... a npw is allmost undistructable.

and what théy are perfect for is bodysurfing.... :-)

it turns and if you turn hard enough it will colapse and let you make a 90° turn but.... why

To prove a RevolutionTM isn't the only quadline that can be used for STACK competition
