D'you know, he'd nailed it at the 2nd attempt too. May well be my fault about the busted LLE though, I can't remember mentioning to watch out for the ground getting in the way on the way down.

The other trick I learnt recently was the backspin cascade managed five reps yesterday at Elvington Airfield not far away from where Richard Hammond crashed. So you need to get some practice in Mark in stead of complaining that there was a couple of spots of rain this summer.

Had a really good days flying today, blue skies, 2-8mph winds all day.

Am most pleased in finally getting to grips with:
aerial pancake->fade->flicflacs
stall->axle->fade->flicflacs
turtle
spin-axel

Almost getting there with yo-yo's more practice needed
Still struggling with the half-axel, can you believe it?

Yes.
I've had some success with the pancake to fade (a couple of times leading to a shaky flic flac)
and can usually put the kite on it's back,but the half axel has been defeating me.
A couple of weeks back I may have managed one but I'd have to see a replay to be sure.Haven't had much chance to try since.
Glad to hear the blue skies in Pembs. on Thursday reached all the way into the next county.

JL for me, I'm still trying to perfect this so its nice and smooth. Yoyos are also in development. All a bit basic still really :-(

First new trick of the year
Insane ~ Only still predictable from one side of the window though, but the theory and technique are in place. Need loads more practice.
The best part of the Insane I love is at the end pulling out of it and flying off :cool:

Well I'm finally managing half axels, axels and "pancake - fade - 180" take-offs (from kite on belly & nose away), though haven't a clue what that's called

Just wish we had some "less than 20mph wind" weekend days, so I could practice!

For whatever reason this is called a "French Toast"

To be able to restart the kite from any given position is really a big step into proficiency and comfort. It looks impressive and keeps you at the operator's end of the lines most of the time.

What's this take off datenland?
Begin on the ground, nose toward you, in a fade position.
Next is almost like a cartwheel, but as the kite flips around if you let it do nothing it would be dead landed.
So half way through (timing critical) you pull with the other line and the kite flips up ready to pull both lines and fly off.

Doesn't matter if you cannot understand from my description, I will also look for something on video to show.
