Hey all,

I have a Deepspace and I'm thrilled with it.

the only little snag is... it's hard to keep it in a fade.
I dont know why but it keeps popping out of it.
I can hold it for a few seconds but then it comes out every time

since this is one of the only kites who seems to give me this problem I'm hoping for someone who's had the same problem and has a solution?

Solution = steady wind

I thought the DS was pretty good in a fade, to the extent that in a steady wind you can stake it down and leave it! But when the wind is turbulent, I have trouble holding any of my kites in a fade without a lot of adjustement, i.e. stepping forward/back, pulling one line closer to stop the kite falling out the fade sideways. Do you have the weight in the tail? This probably helps.

when I enter it out of an axle it tends to overspin and come out of it..
unless I go into backspins...

when I enter via a turtle it just pops out, like its not sitting deep enough...

Walk towards the kite. Be walking forwards as you enter the fade. If the wing on the left starts to drop, give a touch of slack with your right hand, and vice versa.

do people still like holding fades, that's so 90's, for me it's just a transitional position for moving onto more interesting tricks

Exactly ... if you want to hold a fade ... head to the beach ... smooth winds make all the difference in the world.

But really ... why bother ? Stick it in a fade and then ... rollout for rollup, to pull for backspin, or pop ! for yo-flac or pop!! for WDW ... etc

ah, but a fade is such a nice floaty move....
and holding it shows control...
wich I do not seem to have with a deepspace.

someone wrote it was stable enough to hold it for hours... with a matrix thats a fact (it turns into a single line kite like that, very flexible kite that matrix) but my DS is far from that point, or I am

You just solved your own problem. Practice more, the DS holds fades just fine. I've never had trouble with holding a fade on the deepspace, nor has anyone I've let fly my deepspace locally.

Right Rob, but you live on the coast though don't you ...

Smooth winds the key to stable fade (at least for us mortals / plebians)

A nice, steady Fade works very well as counterpoint to the more manic stuff.

Have you people no range, no spectrum to your repertoires ? Must it all just be hyper-hyper-hyper ?

Meanwhile back at the point ..... some kites just need a more attentive approach to the Fade. You need to continue to fly them whilst in the Fade, not just settle back and take a breather but continue to hold it in balance. Others, and the Matrix is an excellent example, lock in there hard and need a lot less tending.

I often (at least twice a week) go out to fly inland simply for practice or testing. It's also more convenient to goto jack puryear park since it's right down the steet

"inland" Florida ... ho ho ho ... must be rough flying in those conditions.

I love holding fades! When I first starting flying Transfers I was resigned to never being able to hold a fade for more than three seconds - I just thought the kite wasn't capable of it (of course, it was just me who wasn't capable)... A year down the line and holding a minute long fade is a doddle, and one of my favourite "moves". Embrace the unsteady wind, it makes you better at fades, as you really learn how to tend the kite.

Me like fadey stuff too, less keen on Turtle holding.

Also, spending an hour trying to land a tip stab in a golf green hole vastly improves your technique

It's the same as inland wind anywhere else.

If not worse much of the time since my favorite spot is surrounded by very tall trees. Most folks who are forced inland tend to have spots that have lower and less dense obstructions.
