hi there, do any of you guys find it harder to trick a smaller kite rather
than a full size kite, i find the hand movements seem to be a lot quicker,
faster and smaller than a full size and i find i cant do the hand movements quick enough?? :-(

Quite the opposite for me, I'm more comfortable with smaller flickable kites.

I find smaller kites considerably easier to trick, and in general more forgiving in terms of set-up and slack-requirements. But I find bigger kites more beautiful and satisfying to fly

To actually do something, no.
To actually do what I want on command, yes. Ish.
To string together those profound combos, hell yes.

But it does depend on what you mean by "smaller". I find the Fury 85 all round better w.r.t. the Fury but I think a Fury 75 might be another matter.

So for me there is probably a cut off point where the kite is too small.

There is. I've been there in testing and some things become amazing and others become dreadful.

i think its a matter of getting use to the smaller and faster inputs as iv
always flown full size kites, even a foot shorter wing span seems so much different.

I found it better to learn a new trick on the Gemini for example the flick flack, but once mastered I could do more reparations on the minigem due to it being more responsive.

Same things happens if you move a standoff or make the kite larger or lengthen the LE or .... change the kite in any way :lol:

Yes. As a very poor trick flier I find a larger, slower kite much easier to learn on, but I prefer something with a bit of weight on it for momentum.

Once I've learnt it I find things easier on a slightly smaller kite.

However, it's only my opinion & the way that I learn, most other people seem to find it the other way around.

Just be grateful there was no footage of me at the Bristol trickout. At least this time I didn't trash the kite & hit a small child over the head with a 12 inch metal ground stake!

All kites for me are too small on 25m lines.
To see what they are doing I have had to wear my glasses all summer and now have tan-lines on my temples.
