Hi all
afraid yet another question. I need some ideas on putting a simple routine together just as a starting block for kite ballet and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to go about this?
cheers Ant

If you can get hold of a copy of the Flying Techniques DVD, Carl and James Robertshaw do a good job of explaining some methods for putting together a ballet routine and fitting it to your chosen music. It's a good place to start.

Try the Stack UK website :

Look under - Kite Skills for Dave Morley's method of creating a routine.

1) have breakfast at the Voltaire
2) count how many people you will/may be flying with today
3) argue for the rest of breakfast over what music to use
4) head to the beach and make it up as you go along

Sorry if I've revealed any trade secrets Dave. :P And of course this is all before the malign influence of the Bobbyshaws (stick practice with AeroStuff sticks is still stick practice).

Mike.

Ones saw in this forum an advice from an experienced flier....record 20 to 30 seconds of your chosen music.....mean devide it into 30 seconds seccions and repeat each seccion at least 5 times with a small gap to go back to initial position...did it first in my old walkman but now I have a MP3 player that gives me the chance to lisent continiously to a selected part....

hope this helps.

First: find something that you can listen to 20 times in a row without throwing it through a window.

or
First: make a compilation of your favourite flying tunes & fly to it until one comes out as best.

Then, improvise till you find some bits of flying you like and WRITE THAT BIT DOWN (advice taken from many experienced flyers who said I really liked what I did at X but now I've forgotten what it was). This only works for individuals, any more than one you need to know what you're doing first.

Continue messing about until all musical sections are filled, ensuring that you always get to the place(s) where you can start the "really cool bit" on time.
Love Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Needs to fly more, now that I can.
