Getting the handle on straps

Hi all, anyone got any advice on handed and straps. As a novice I’ve only ever had one kite which has handles.
If fortune smiles favourably upon me, I will be adding a Benson Deep Space at some point.
As far as I am aware, there are three main types of straps, wrist, finger and Knuckle-duster?
Are they simply a matter of personal choice or do they perform specific functions.
Which one would be recommended for a Deep Space? I will be practising with a view to becoming fairly competent with truck and freestyle flying over time.... a long time.
Also what is the best line for this kite? Cheers!

Without a doubt either finger or knuckle straps. Far more responsive. Wrist straps are bulky and will get in the way. If your moving onto serious trick kiting then you wont be out in winds much higher than 15mph with a standard kite. 8-12mph is ideal wind speed so 90lb line will be fine. I personally like about 65 - 70 ft but alot of other flyers prefer about 100ft. Its a personal choice, I just like to keep the kite closer.

Thanks Hawkerhunter. I’ll try the finger straps then. What make of line is good? It seems Spectra and Dyneema are ones that a lot of flyers use?

I.m no expert on kite line. I'm still using my first sets of Spectra that came with some of my earlier kites. Lex's recommendation would be worth a try and they seem reasonably priced as well.

I prefer finger straps, but everyone to their own, always difficult not to recommend Tim's stuff, amazing craftsman and built to last.
