Old School?

Fri Jul 27, 2018 11:09 am

I'm guessing this lot are considered distinctly old-skool these days?

Old school maybe, but bettered ? Perhaps not.

R-Sky is still trying to improve on the original Vana

The red one is an N-FX. The blue one is the library extremely FUBAR one, and it's living up to its name! I have a spare sail that I really must reframe.

I'm actually taking the three decent ones on holiday this week, so hopefully will actually get something in the air!

Indeed, doubt there's much better out there these days.

Craig - you mean the lawn or the kites?

My bag is more old skool than new these days. Now that I'm a better flier, I like to revisit all those kites I read about when I first started.

I have Gemini's and Nirvana's but probably more Atelier than anything else, Transfer's, Lynx's, DZ's the kites from those epic videos they used to make

Atelier kite videos are really good.

It seems like a bunch of art school reprobates have taken up kite flying...

And they can really fly...

Actually got these out last weekend for the first time in literally years - flew the Akuji and the Nirvana FX, and still managed to do all my standard repertoire about just as badly as I ever did. My youngest (10) had a go on the NFX and managed to smash the spine and put it through the sail, but it's just a tiny hole, luckily.

I just bought a Psycho. Just need to reframe and rebridle it in something more modern. Probably p90 - but all I have in garage is wrapped tapered rods.

Still flying big SLK's by the way. Had a great time at Portsmouth.
