Fractured Axel

This trick was mentioned in the stella trickout topic. First time i saw this combo but it was stated that Piero allready flew this move years ago and it was named What Doo What.

Not sure if it refers to one single rotation or the 3 rungs Chris was doing in the video.

I downloaded the video and slowed down the clip to break down the move:

- start in fade
- flare the kite crooked (like the entry to a slotmachine) but let it fall in to backflip
- do half a Lazy rotation
- pull back into fade
- repeat rotation

I can imagine there are some variaties like Inverse instead of Lazy rotation, alternating direction and multilazies.

Going to try it next time on the field.

The trick was named "trick x" the what do what was meant to be a micky take.There was some video of it dating from around 2005 I think. Be careful out there guys it can be a spreader beaker.

I haven't been able to reproduce it yet either... i end up in a rolling cascade after the first inverse.

yes, i tried this yesterday with the sixthsense.85

i got the right sequence in my head and it almost did work, i missed the third rotation each time

the input has to be very soft and at the right time, otherwise it will indeed roll-up


you can also do the cascade-bit with the other hand and do the inverse each time in the same direction (it started doing this when i tried the trick the first time), looks also nice

My first mistake was to start from rolling cascade: doesn't work.
Entry is from Inverse. It seems that the trick is to have the kite in nearly nosedown position after the inverse rotation and before the kite is trown into the backflip again. This makes sense because this also applies to doing 3 rolling susans in a row.

Going to work on this some more...

...then you have to pull the rotation input on the opposit side of the flair, then it rotates willingly
