TP-USA Tricks Party Definition

The DEAD LAUNCH is a launch that begins with the kite on the ground, belly down and nose toward the pilot. The kite is pulled toward the pilot so that it rises off the ground and launches straight up.
KEY ELEMENTS: ►Clean launch and vertical climb.

Execution

Primary Execution

With the kite on the ground belly down nose pointing towards you. Make a very sharp short pop with both hands in such a way that the nose of the kite pops up. Then take up the slack so the wind catches the kite fly's straight up.

Alternative Executions

Some kites prefer a setup pop first, the first pop bounces the kite nose the second pop is done as the nose starts to bounce back up again after hitting the ground. Then after the second pop take up the slack as above.
