Hello Everyone,
I got an idea to build a SUL kite based on 4mm carbon frame with wingspan about 200cm.
for this purpose i have taken plan of Invictus by Davide Equizzi and scaled it down to 75%, I have also simplified the panel layout to make the build easier:
I have build first trial sail using foil just to check if it fly and will be able to perform some tricks.
The sail, frame and bridle is strictly scaled to 75% according to plan. I only had to shorten a little ( about 1cm) inner standoff because sail was tesioned little bit to hard at this point.
After first test flying I am really glad of the result. I was able to perform all tricks which i know ( i am not advanced pilot). Now i am planning to sew sail from about 32g/m2 ripstop spinaker nylon which will be much lighter and more pecise than the foil prototype.
Maybe You have some suggestion before I will cut the sail panels? I have found only one topic about scaling sails but not much conclusions in there.
