AA meeting, revisited

Sat Aug 11, 2012 12:36 pm

Back in this thread I admitted my problem and vowed to take steps to address it.

I am useless :?

All neatly arranged in categorised rows as well.

But you know what ? To Hell with it. I'm a grown man (I have papers to prove this) and I'll do as I please (within reason). That said... maybe I could shift a few on. I mean, what harm could come of doing that ?

Mike,
unrepentant.

Its only half as bad as it looks, its half kite collection half antique collection.

I think the first pic shows your problem: there is too much grass showing.

If it's any consolation I appear to be trying to fill in the gaps.

Went for a surf this morning, cos hadn't been in the water for a fortninght - really nice onshore breeze though, so I had every intention of going back to the beach for a fly later on (there seems to be such little daylight left in the week allready). Got way-laid a bit though, doing - you know - 'stuff' and started tidying the garage. Considerably easier said than done.

Anyways... there's a pile of kite bags in the corner that really needed a tidy up to make some room for boxes of other useless stuff, so I got stuck in. I've been pretty brutal in kite culling over the past 3 or 4 years, and haven't actually bought anything new for a couple of seasons... (oooh, except that 180g delight from JoE). Sooo...

Nah. I'm cured.

I shall have t-shirts made for all of us so afflicted with this delusion.

Talon, Trident, Matrix, Cosmic, Element, others.

What if they are self build............... surely they do not count. Or is that to be a different sub category of a kite, eh hem, problem.

Nah self build come under an entirely different category, that would be arts and crafts not kite buying.

I am OK but I think a couple of you, not naming anybody Mike, may have developed a slight bias towards maybe getting close to developing a sort of problem.

What the hell Mike you do not have 107 cats and collect old newspapers.

Enjoy the collection!

I'm getting closer to my target of no more than 50 kites between the 2 of us, we've just agreed to give away 3 more.

Blast ... I keep using the fact that there are two of us to try and defend the size of the collection, but if you're going to set the bar at 50 between two rather than 50 each, I've got a problem (Mike, where can I buy the shirt?)

I wonder if there is a special category if they are mostly the same kite. Phantoms in my case :)
