Kite Related Design

Sat Feb 12, 2011 2:02 pm

I know some people have been trying to get in contact with the company, I just wanted to let you know the news from the KRD studio.

Sadly Carl has had to Liquidate the Company.
A very hard decision to take but necessary.
Ironically it was the companies best year last year, with our best work.

Carl will continue to design and he is thinking of a way to continue the manufacture of the Fury and the single line kites. He is also looking to maintain the link with Aerostuff. It is early in the year, so hopefully by the time the season gets underway, you'll know more on that front.

In the meantime we're inviting Kite Flyers to Blackheath for a kind of "wake" for KRD. If you would like to come, there is no agenda or timetable. Probably drinks in the pub and a chance to start the year with a bit of a knees up.

It's always sad to hear a kite-related company going under, but to hear that about KRD is even worse ...

Sad news indeed.

Never owned a KRD kite, but had a few dealings with Carl on repairs and straps.

Be good to see him back in business.

My thoughts are with you all.

My Fury's are still my pride and joy, and every time one is in the air I have the biggest smile on my face. No other kite flies like a Fury.

I can only thank you all, and hope a solution comes along soon.

Kind Regards,

Mark

Sad. And a bit astonishing for me. Being an architect (and a kiter), I was always a bit jealous about his extremely fascinating field of work. On matching occasions I even tried to talk clients into using his structures.

Good luck to him and hopefully he might find something similarly interesting!

You can make your neighbours think that you have fluorescent lights in all the rooms in your house by quickly turning the lights on and off several times before leaving them on.

That's really sad news... it's a tough, tough old world out there just now. Hopefully Carl and co will take this as an opportunity to excel in something new.
