Perhaps that's why Jason is now a resident of the 'penal colony'.

My bad. I should have taken a beating and then waited for justice (a community safety officer) to award them an ASBO each. And then lived in fear of them coming back.

You're right though, it is different here. Much less golf is played. They prefer cricket; heavier bat, shorter reach, takes far more practice.

Only had one dog incident here, it was an rsky kite though so it was ok. And I was, I later realised, in the "dog exercise area" so my bad. The field I usually fly at has lots of dog walkers, the dogs are supposed to be on leads but many aren't. But interestingly I have not encountered an out of control dog.

In Denmark there is a law that says "dog have to be in leash in public areas" When we meet people with dogs we tell them "that dogs don't understand what is going on up in the sky when a kite is flying."

Maybe it is to much for a dog owner to understand his dog and read about dog !

Normally people is understanding and put a leash on there dog !!

But yes there is many dog owners out there there is to XXX in their heads !!!

I’ve just had another canine run-in, though not with a kite this time.

I was flying a Parkzone Sukhoi (an aerobatic plane that weighs about the same as a bag of crisps), when a terrier came out of nowhere and started yapping after it. The owner eventually showed up, but made no attempt to control the dog. I told him it’d be £60 if the dog gets it, and he accused me of being ‘argumentative’ (wtf?), and (my favourite bit) said “the dog won’t hurt it”. I eventually managed to shake it by using the little remaining power to gain so much altitude that I risked flying out of range.

No harm done ultimately, but a bitter end to a nice session and a reminder that even middle-class dogs called Jeremy will attack anything that flies.

This may be lowering the tone of things slightly but I've resorted to
"F*CK OFF or I'll kill it" no miss understandings normally occur there after!

Since I last posted in this thread I have had a couple of doggy near misses! Since the Hinckley BFD I have been out practicing more...
I had a Border Collie heading towards my Hypnotist a few weeks back, on a 'less than perfect' almost windless evening. I had just set it up & was walking back towards my pinned down wrist straps. Its owner was a student aged female and she fully appreciated the possible outcome & was going 'mental' shouting at it to return. Fortunately it obeyed her..

Yesterday, I took my new orange/black & yellow Talon Mark has built me to a different to normal field (the one I have recently disscovered seems to be over-popular with teenage footballers, (its a C of E school playing field)
Anyways, one of these "Huskie like" dogs came bounding over, again I had just set-up.. I launched it! I shouted "Call your dog off" to its owners and they stood there looking puzzled? Anyways, my new Talon is intact and the dog lost interest & ran back to its owners. I don't dislike dogs, don't missunderstand me but 'some of the owners' "take the biscuit"!

Sometimes you need to make things shockingly clear to the dumb-ass owners, using language they understand.

Some ass came jogging down the beach, tide out empty beach (5 football pitches length from top to bottom of beach), yet he wants to jog straight through my kite lines (between me and the kite) even after I shouted for him to mind out because it's dangerous. Some people are beyond common sense. What do you do with them??
I told him what I'd do if he did that again - on the way back I noticed he stayed well clear of me.

I am sorry to announce the sudden death of my Benson Deep Space, it was savagley killed today by a Chocolate labrador.

The sail is shredded, upper LE & upper spreader bit through, stand off snapped!

The only consolation is that the owner appologised profusley and offerd to replace it. He gave me his phone number (which I checked there & then) & went even whiter than me when I told him it was a custom made £200 kite!




No flowers!
