P300...

Mon Apr 06, 2015 5:28 pm

Don't seem to be able to find any for a fixing... Box full of sticks, and none of the ones I actually need. 'Rolly'. Is 3px the same for a replacement?

Corresponding with Marieanne from Kites and Fun Things, the brick and mortar shop for Skyshark, she said: " You can certainly use the P3X   It really is the same as the P300, it just has the diamond weave". also I believe it says on their website that its a bit more durable.

Or use this?

Easton Powerflight "400 (deflection in inches) is 8.3gpi which is 17.3grams over 826mm.

P300 is 17.0grams over 826mm.

The accuracy arrows shafts are made nowdays is a lot better and I believe (without equipment accurate enough to measure the difference) on a par with bespoke kite shafts.

It depends on the modulus but as a guide
"Powerflight" is .340" (deflection) 19.4g
......................400".................17.3g
......................500".................15.1g

And "Lightspeed" is lighter with the .500" coming in at 13.6g

Diameters are comparable to Skyshark (average o/d being 7.2-7.4mm and I/d being 6.2mm) and cost....well the two most popular retailers sell at £2.56-£2.84 per shaft.

Bryan, px3 is the same weight and dimension but stiffer. Probably alright. What's it for exactly?

The px sticks are nice. Hope you are well otherwise? Harv

All good and well, thank you very much.

Busted LLE on a Std Vendetta. 'Kin wet sand isn't ever-so forgiving on a tip stab. :-)

The P3X is about 15 to 20 % stiffer than the old P300 tubes.

Have a look => here. 8)

If they are indeed 15 to 20% stiffer than P300s I would probably go with a pair of P2x if it was me.

I think that Hengist Kites may have one or two lengths. Could be worth a call. 01202 422133.
