....or close by?

It'd be cool to meet up with someone more experienced once my kite arrives :)

check out the northern kite group, used to have regular meets up at New Brighton and Otterspool. Mostly single line but they had some really good trick fliers - might still be around. I've sort of lost touch.

Don't know if you are aware but we are having a meeting at Filey in June. You could be there in about 3 hours. Here's a link to the thread on FA about the meeting. Its a great weekend.

The Dips at New Brighton is the best place locally to fly.

I'm not sure there are any trick fliers out on a regular basis. I work out of Chester at the moment and whilst I am there I will occasionally head over to the Dips after work, but it tends to be a last minute decision based on pressure of work and what the wind is doing on XCWeather.

NKG meet at Otterspool Prom on the other side of the Mersey on Wednesday afternoon / evenings and possibly Sundays as well, if you are just wanting somebody to fly with. They do some team precision flying and it's worth popping over to chat to Dave Green if he's there. Dave will probably be willing to take you through the basics of flying a dual line kite, just don't expect any lessons in tricking.

Hope this helps a bit.
