Pocock bridling?

Thu May 09, 2013 8:05 am

Ok, this is way off the usual topics, but does anyone have information on exactly how George Pocock's 4-line kite was bridled and steered? I can only find snippets which together sort of make sense, but not completely ...

Playing with the idea in the back of my mind to make a modern reconstruction (with pilot kite, of course!). The kite itself should be pretty simple, but it's the bridling/steering I can't get my head around yet.

Found this video of another reconstruction project. Wouldn't it make more sense for the sail to have been behind the spars for a power kite?
