North West Winter League - Part II : to be held in conjunction with the NKG fly-in at New Brighton Dips on Sunday 15th February. Figures for Dual line, Quad line, Individual, Pairs and Team depending on interest. I'd like to get the figures started around 1pm so that we can get in a tricky comp as well, as we tend to run out of daylight this time of year.

Figures will be as follows :-

DI17 – Wedge
DI05 – Lap & Snap

DP
DP11 – Meet Again
DP17 – Pair Jump with Rolls
DP18 – Pair Launch, Circle & Land

DT
DT02 – Pick up Sticks
DT03 – Follow, Flank Up & Square
DT08 – The Basket

MI
MI04 – Two Down
MI13 – Z Pass
MI03 – Steps and Turns

MP
MP06 – Peaks
MP12 – Split Square
MP13 – Pair Pivots

MT
MT01 – Cascade
MT03 – Vertical Thread and Rotate
MT07 – Arch du Carousel

As usual, everyone is welcome to take part regardless of experience levels and insurance will be required if you are not a member of STACK or NKG.

Normal coaching/practice session in the morning for anyone who needs help with competitions in the afternoon (peer judged).

Just a gentle reminder that this is coming up this Sunday. Might be wise to pack a set of snow shoes as well, just in case :-)

Not the easiest flying wind either for the Winter League or for the trick out that followed.

The biggest challenge of the day for most of us was proved to be snap landing in the lap and snap, with a few interesting variations on the normal text book landing. :)

Always good to see the Beasley Boys who made the longish journey up again to the NW and drove through some fairly horrible weather on the way.

Thanks to Ian and Mike for doing some better flying stuff with me. Struggled with the wind to put theory into practice, but some useful pointers to try out another day.

And finally a big thanks to Ian for organising today.

Okay - scores from yesterday as promised, sorry I had to dash off! Thanks to everyone who came down on what promised to be a poor day for flying. Fortunately the rain stopped early but we didn't lose the cold high winds all day. To be expected in the Winter League though, I guess. We had competitiors in DI, DP, MI & MP and we even managed to get in a quick trickout as well. Scores as follows (out of a possible 90) :-

DI
1 - Bryan Beasley (65)
2 - Ian Parkes (60.5)
3 - Dave Green (58 )
4 - Mike Fogg (52.5)
5 - Jon (Jaydub) (44)
6 - Kev Mullarkey (40)

DP
1 - Ian & Bryan (43.5)
2 - Dave & Kev (40)

MI
1 - Mike Fogg (51.5)
2 - Steve Beasley (43.5)
3 - Bryan Beasley (34)

MP
1 - Mike Fogg & Steve Beasley (44.5)
2 - Steve Beasley & Bryan Beasley (31.5)

Trickout
1 - Bryan Beasley
2 - Mike Fogg
3 - Ian Parkes
4 - Jon (Jaydub)

The conditions were particularly difficult so we could probably all expect to a little better given decent conditions but well done to everyone and thanks again for your support!

Thanks for a good day out... Was mighty cold and windy. Big thanks to Kev for the use of spare snow suit - would have been in trouble without it - Knew I should have packed the shell suit, traveling up north like. Journey home not quite as good as the one up - some silly bugger stuck their car into the back of a lorry on M6 - closed it for an hour or so... and Bryan has some proper rubbish quizzes on his iPod - must be a better way of passing the time.

cheers guys
STEVE.

Sounds like you had interesting conditions, well done to all who competed, I'm really sorry I couldn't be with you, cold & wind not withstanding.

You're not a Stranglers fan then Keith... was on Vee's iPod too. Actually writing a technical and ballet routine would be a good start I think - going to take it serious this year, no off the cuff impulse behaviour from now on - promise. Oh, and I'll try and get more than one round in too.

Off topic a bit - that emoticon :-) could almost have been cut and pasted from your new avatar, uncanny likeness.
