Sad news, but very much a sign of the times. However, it is only Kite Related Design Ltd, the Company, in liquidation, which Carl incorporated in 2008 after many years as a sole trader, and not Carl being dragged off to debtors prison and workhouse. So, I'm sure all the nice kites will continue to be available from same in the near future.

Sad and unexpected. I had somehow assumed that the diversity of KRD's products, the link with Red Bull, etc. would help recession-proof them.

Commiserations to all involved. I shall hang onto my DM in memoriam... :-)

In the meantime we're inviting Kite Flyers to Blackheath for a kind of "wake" for KRD. If you would like to come, there is no agenda or timetable. Probably drinks in the pub and a chance to start the year with a bit of a knees up.

Chris has no internet right now and asked me to post for him.
The "wake" is this Sunday 20th Feb, sorry for the late notice and we hope some of you can make it.

I won't be able to make it either - hopefully I'll get a chance to fly my Fury over this weekend, and I'm sure I'll be able to get to a pub too ;-)

I shall try and make it, where / when?

So sad to see KRD go under, Carl has always been enthusiastic and a hard worker and it must be awful to see your company which you have nurtured over the years, go the way of so many others..

I'm sure Carl will put 100% into whatever he decides to do next.

Carl's designs have always been innovative and successful, and I wish him all the best for the future.

Hope to see you guys on Sunday :-)

Hi,

I work for an architects in Brighton and we are interested in contacting carl of the former KRD regarding some potential Kite like structures/commisions/future work. If anyone has any contact details or knows a way of getting in touch please let me know.
