When you edit, please remember to comment.

Andy, if you could look and see if it's possible to make it so you cannot submit a revision without a comment, that maybe a prudent idea.

It becomes really messy when lots of folks are making edits and leave no clue as to what was changed.
Anyway this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist

If you click on Recent Changes (I think you can all do that) you should be able to see a revision history. Click on the 'd' to see the difference between one version and the next...

I can't see an option to make comments compulsory... I'll check code mods from work...

Is it worth having the AKAs in the indexes?

It's certainly helpful if you only know the one term, but then we don't want ten entries for the same trick. How about having them all on one line in the index (most common first) e.g.

((inverted backflip))
((flic flac)), ((flic flac|poisoned ivy)), ((flic flac|grapevine))
((French toast))
((Fade-Out))

There is every need for the AKA's to be listed as raised before, but as in the case of the turtle spin it links to the lazy susan, if it works why try to fix it :?:

Yes. But we still need the Poisoned Ivy and Grapevine names in the list in the right places too, I guess (but in smaller text?)

Should it be like

..
..
((flic flac)), aka ((flic flac|poisoned ivy)), ((flic flac|grapevine))
..
((flic flac|grapevine))
..
((flic flac|poisoned ivy))
..
..

or

..
..
((flic flac)), aka ((flic flac|poisoned ivy)), ((flic flac|grapevine))
..
grapevine - see ((flic flac))
..
poisoned ivy - see ((flic flac))
..
..

Personally, I favour the latter.

great job everyone, btw.

Or just list them in the index and have the link point to the current name for the trick and have the latter on the current trick page, though I can never understand why one trick has many names, although in the begining there were tricks here, the states and the continent and no central index or reference. :!:

You seem to be asking why a small distinct piece of bread is known variously as a roll, a teacake, a stottie, a bun, a bap, a cob e.t.c.

When is's invented independently, it gets a name, when it's only seen & not described, it gets a name, they can't all be described as that wierd thing I did with my kite/ I saw X do with their kite. Think about it as a sign of the diversity of kiting. :-D
Love Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Needs to fly more, now that I can.

I have to say this has the makings to be a really good resource.

A number of tricks have had some good threads on this forum.. would be good to link to them where possible.

@Vee, in the 'old skool' days If you created a trick you had to demonstrate it 10 times in a row flawlessly and then name it before you put your kite away for the trick to be credited to you, There are many, many threads in rec.kites as the tricks emerged.

The reason for some of them are simply different names come from different countries. Typically the French decided to rename everything to have more panache :)
