VF13 - the videos

Wed Jul 15, 2009 8:32 am

Holy cow !

34 entries means a ZIP file of...... 437Mb !!! Without Thomas' very kind assistance I'd be struggling to find a place for all this.

A webpage with links to the individual videos is up already and I'll have a score sheet off to all the entrants Real Soon Now™.

A record entry that I think reflects the generosity of the main prize donors, Tim Benson and Carl Robertshaw, although who can truly resist a VF mug ?

Wow. I have to say something here about this round.

First off, the collective skill level is rising:

1. a taz machine cascade with four
2. a backspin cascade with 18 reversals
3. Side slide reversal...and a one handed 360 by same pilot
4. yo-cynique (only one reversal...but still)

This round, after an initial viewing, might be the hardest to sort out ever. It's really great to see how folks improve and grow as pilots. Some of you guys have really gotten GOOD!

It's really been a great pleasure to take the day off and watch these videos. Now...it's time to fly!

Jesper Rasmussen's video crashes in my VLC with the following error message:

No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "wmap". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

Sound only in Windows Media Player (v.11).

Just thought I'd let you know.

Agreed. Some great stuff in there - well done all. Now starts the really difficult bit of sorting out the scores... Don't expect my results for a little while Mike!

I'm watching the DLed version as I type this; I've got sound and vision in WMP. I did get the same error message in VLC (1.0.0 Goldeneye) which shakes my previous conviction that it will play anything.

My third media player, MPlayer, handled it fine though.

The scoresheets are now with the entrants so we're just all waiting for them now :P If you've entered and not received the mail, let me know somehow.

If you are having trouble with Jesper's video then you could DL his original, oversized version(37,3Mb) or as remixed by Sven here. Dunno why there's a problem as it really does play OK for me in Windows Media Player.
