Very nice gesture from Mark @ JoE for the Talon UL donation!

Awesome stuff Mike! Thanks for all the work!

Just drop me a line to virtualfreestyle@gmail.com and say "in". I'll amend the website to make this more clear.

Mike.

I'm looking forward to entering VF11 . . . if I can figure out how to video some of my flying.

Is there any official set of rules and judging criteria for the VF events? I've looked through past postings and videos, and so I have a general sense of what is and is not expected. Maybe a sticky that succinctly covered the bases would be useful for us newbies . . .

1) Point camera at kite.
2) Fly kite.
3) Keep kite where the camera can see it.

This not doing it for you then ? Don't overthink it would be good advice.

Scoring is 0~10 x 2; once for Technique, once for Artistry. 10:10 isn't necessarily perfection for all time, but might be perfect for today. Without wishing to seem to lead the direction of scoring - for me someone just racing to bang out as many tricks as possible might get a high Technique score from me but suffer in Artistry unless they were sewn together well. Similarly a nicely joined up sequence of a select few moves might attract a high Artistry score but lose a few Technique marks. From me. YMMV

I'm not at all sure that I agree with the view, expressed elsewhere, that any VF has been won simply by sheer number of tricks.

It really is a very straightforward once you try it out.

Well on day 5 of VF11 there are 18 plucky souls who've signed up to enter so far. No videos have yet emerged but it's early days.

Of those 8 are new to VF (plus one returnee from days gone by) so it looks very encouraging for the continuation of VF being The World's Favourite :P

C'mon now... a freakin' Talon UL. How can you resist and why would you want to ?

I'm in.   Footage taken on Jan 2nd, edited and rendered on the 3rd. I'm hoping to get something better before the deadline though, so won't be submitting just yet... Unless there's a prize for first film in? ;) If it comes to it though, I have something I wouldn't be embarrased to submit (some of the time the kite is in the air at least, and mostly even in shot!!) and that gives me a chance of winning that spanking new Talon... "Fly your way" - it's the first bit I'm having trouble with!!!!

Mike. I believe I spotted an error in the list of entries. I don't see Frazer listed. Surely you must have over looked his email.

Frazer, thus far, has seen fit not to grace VF with his considerable presence. This time around extra bait has been thrown into the water in the form of a best n00bie prize.

Operators are standing by, waiting for his call.

Now that's an image I can well do without, thankyouverymuch.

BTW... I/we mulled entry limits but that won't be happening. I'll keep the website up to date as best I can so if people see that there's going to be too many people entered and too many videos too look at then they can make the decision for themselves, like adults do. M'kay ?

Presently 19 only potential entries.

Mike.
