I'm off on holiday :)

Wed Apr 16, 2008 3:46 pm

and I've only managed a few minutes of filming last night before the weakling battery ran out of juice. So, here is the best minute of that filming session. Sorry for the crash! Just really wanted to enter (I want my national standings point!). I'm really liking the xtz, in the past few days I feel I've really "levelled-up" my kite skills if you know what I mean. BTW, the trick out of frame at the start is another inverse, the xtz loves inverses, you can get some weird effects with them. It's also pretty nifty at groundwork - I'll try to get some more footage when I return.

Anyway, I'll be thinking of you guys on Hamilton Island (damn why can't kites fit in my case!). I'll be back in time for scoring (5th of May).

DAVEY, please enter me with this video.

Get yourself a fishing rod tubecut it to size, superglue end cap on one end and gaffer tape the cap on the other end, check it in with the case and pick it up the other end (unless using T5 :? ).

Nice vid :)

You can buy cardboard tubes from scrap stores for 20p.
I have a military grade cylindrical shipping tube. You're guaranteed to be searched carrying that into an airport as it looks like some kind of weapon, in reality it's a 3in waste tube with a bung at one end and screwcap at the other.

Well thanks for these invaluable tips, but I fear I will have to use them on my next solo holiday: I have recently been informed by my girlfriend that if I think about bringing kites I will lose a testicle... I'm sure snorkeling is great fun too : )

In cases like that I always try to imagine what Mrs. Columbus might have said when Christopher came up with his stupid earth-sphere-India-fixation for the umpteenth time...
You can make your neighbours think that you have fluorescent lights in all the rooms in your house by quickly turning the lights on and off several times before leaving them on.
